Editorial Policy

Our goal is to help you compare insurance like-for-like with clear guides, glossaries, and provider profiles. This page explains how we create and maintain content.

Last updated: 8 February 2026

1) What we publish

The content types on Secure Insurance.

Guides

Plain-English explanations of common decisions (e.g., buildings vs contents, level vs decreasing).

Glossary

Simple definitions of terms (e.g., excess, premium, sum insured).

Quote hubs

Pages designed to help you compare like-for-like and reach insurers/partners efficiently.

Provider & partner profiles

Quick checklists and navigation to quote hubs and external sites.

2) How “Top Picks” work

Top Picks are starting points, not personalised recommendations.

“Top Picks” are used on quote hubs and hubs to help you start comparing quickly. They are typically a mix of:

  • Well-known insurers (so you can start directly), and
  • Comparison partners (so you can compare across multiple providers).

We do not claim any provider is “best” or “cheapest” for everyone — pricing and suitability depend on individual circumstances. We encourage you to compare policy terms (excess, limits, exclusions) as well as price.

3) Affiliate relationships

How we handle commercial relationships.

Some outbound links are affiliate links. This means we may earn commission if you choose a product via a link. We aim to keep content transparent and label disclosure sections clearly.

4) Accuracy and updates

Insurance changes fast — we try to keep up.

Regular reviews

We aim to review core hubs and quote pages periodically and when we notice changes.

Source checking

Where possible, we check insurer/partner pages for key details before updating summaries.

Plain-English focus

If something is complex or uncertain, we aim to say so clearly.
